- First fashion item you bought and still have?
I don’t know if this counts as a fashion item, but an item that is still in my closet to this day and I still use is a pair of Carharrt baggy trousers that were super popular when I was roughly 12 and I remember spending all my money on them and the day I got them, I sat on a nail and ripped a whole on the right of my butt. I do still have them though and I use them regularly and I fixed the hole. I’ve always loved workwear and it’s where I get alot of inspiration from so I do feel quite sentimental towards them.
- Favourite place in the world?
wow difficult. I have to say 4 places and as always, this is just for now! The public swimming pool in my neighbourhood is the place that makes me feel rejuvenated to my core. I miss it every time I leave Iceland and it’s always the first thing I do when I’m back in Iceland. Then I have to say my family’s farm. It is just a safe place, super isolated but super familiar and breathtaking landscape! Also visited Lodz in Poland last summer and it is one of my favourite places I’ve ever been, so unique and creative! And lastly East Greenland – I visited just a couple of months ago and there are just no words to describe it. I feel like you just ruin it by labelling or describing it with words, it’s beyond that!
- Silk, cotton, or cashmere and why?
Because it’s a natural fibre and it is one of the softest things to touch your skin. I love silk organza and the way it behaves and sculpts. I think I also just love it in context with wool, which is my favourite and silk contrasts wool so well and has just such different attributes. Everything is contextual!
- Best book ever?
This is my opinion atm. and it will probably change.
- A Year of Magical Thinking – Joan Didion
- Humankind – Timothy Morton
- The Right to Sex – Amia Srinivasan
- What is the soundtrack to your life?
Hah, I don’t know but the Eurovision song Wild Dances by Ruslana seems to oddly sometimes match my energy, just an amazing pop, electro folklore mix!
- A quote to change your life?
Remember to drink water.
- One thing you wish you’d learned at school, or the one thing you learned in school that you couldn’t live without?
Taxes, wish I learned that in school and also just maybe the business side of things a bit. Swimming! could not live without it.
- Who would you want to be stuck in a lift with?
Maybe Dolly Parton, I think she would be really fun to talk to. Or maybe a fox to pet and become friends with.
- If you had the power to change anything you wanted in the world what would it be?
I would contact aliens to arrive on earth. I think we need outsider opinions.
- 3 things your friends would say about you?
Hopefully funny, probably creative, and definitely chaotic.
Your 3 favourite fabrics:
For now;
- Wool; felted or like a silk wool mix
- Linen
- No particular category but a fabric that is a bit ugly or gross maybe, whatever that is in that moment for me. The ugly/ gross is good
