LAST YARN FAQs
On average across Europe and the UK, 15% of all fabric produced each year is unsold and becomes deadstock. These textiles accumulate in warehouses and may even be destroyed or sent to landfill. At Last Yarn, we want to unlock the value of deadstock and surplus fabrics, giving access to brands, designers, creative visionaries, students or stay-at-home makers to purchase and give a second life to these high quality, unused materials. Our fabrics are sold by a range of suppliers in the UK and Europe including brands, manufacturers, mills and designers.
If you would like to sell fabrics on Last Yarn, get in touch at
hello@lastyarn.com and we will send you more information about opening a seller’s account with us.
We accept all well known payment methods including Visa, MasterCard, America Express, Delta, Maestro, Electron and PayPal.
Each fabric sold on our marketplace has a list of specifications on the product page. This includes technical information (such as quantity available, width, composition and main material) and descriptive information (such as softness, stretch, draping, special features and uses), we encourage our sellers to fill in as much information as possible to make your virtual experience simple. Due to being a marketplace and selling surplus fabric, sellers may not be able to share all of the information about a product (e.g. a vintage item, lost information). If you need extra information about any of our items, get in touch by emailing hello@lastyarn.com or use the help button on the product page.
The nature of our stock means we have a short supply – once it’s gone, it’s gone. We therefore offer limited sampling. To sample a fabric you can either purchase a minimum order of one meter directly on our website. If you are working on a big project or need a large number of swatches contact us via email to access our bespoke sampling service at hello@lastyarn.com.
No – all of our fabrics are second-life surplus or deadstock. However look out for our innovation materials section coming soon in collaboration with circular and biodegradable fabric manufacturers.
